Simon Pegg Didn’t Know the ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Title Until He Saw the Trailer

The most impossible mission for Simon Pegg? Learning the name of the movie he’s starring in.

Despite being part of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise for decades, Pegg only found out the title of the seventh and eighth action films by watching the trailer.

“I found out on the day of the trailer and not from [director] Chris McQuarrie. I found out from the trailer,” Pegg told Collider. “No, no one told me. So I texted McQ and was like, ‘Dead Reckoning? Were you going to tell us that at some point?’ I heard it was going to be something else, but I like that.”

Pegg added, ” ‘Land of the Dead’ was originally called ‘Dead Reckoning.’ So finally, I get to be in a film called ‘Dead Reckoning.'”

“Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part I” is the first installment of the conclusion to the 1996 film franchise led by Tom Cruise, who

John Oliver Mocks ‘New Business Daddy’ Warner Bros. Discovery for ‘Burning Down’ HBO for Cash

From taking down Washington D.C. to slamming the next steps of DC Comics, John Oliver isn’t shying away from criticizing HBO parent company Warner Bros.Discovery.

During the August 7 episode of “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver,” the host likened the rollout of the monkeypox vaccine to how Wbd CEO David Zaslav shelved DC superhero film “Batgirl.”

“We let the vaccine sit unused on a shelf in our reserves, like an expired Chobani or a 90 million movie on HBO Max,” Oliver joked. “Hi there, new business daddy seems like you’re doing a really great job. I do get the vague sense that you’re burning down my network for the insurance money, but I’m sure that that will all pass.”

Batgirl” was deep into post-production when it was scrapped from the HBO Max release schedule. Leslie Grace starred as the Gotham City hero, along with Michael Keaton,

Neve Campbell: Unfair ‘Scream 6’ Offer Would Not Have Been the Same ‘If I Were a Man’

Neve Campbell shocked the “Scream” fandom when she announced June 6 that she would not be returning for the upcoming sixth “Scream” movie, making it the first installment in the long-running horror franchise not to star Campbell. The actor said at the time that the offer to star in “Scream 6” did not properly “equate” to the value she brings to the franchise. Now Campbell tells People that she believes her offer for “Scream 6” would not have come in so low if she were a man.

“I did not feel that what I was being offered equated to the value that I bring to this franchise, and have brought to this franchise, for 25 years,” Campbell said. “And as a woman in this business, I think it’s really important for us to be valued and to fight to be valued.”

Campbell added, “I honestly don’t believe that if I

John Travolta, Edgar Wright, and More Remember Olivia Newton-John: ‘You Made Our Lives So Much Better’

When Olivia Newton-John died on Monday at the age of 73, the entertainment world lost an icon. The multi-talented British-Australian performer first rose to prominence as a pop star in the 1970s with the hit albums “If You Love Me, Let Me Know” and “Have You Never Been Mellow,” but movie lovers will always remember her as Sandy Olsson. Her starring role in “Grease” resulted in many of the most iconic musical numbers in film history, from “Summer Nights” to “You’re the One That I Want.” Newton-John’s musical pedigree and chemistry with Travolta went a long way toward propelling the film to success, and its soundtrack remains one of the best-selling albums in music history.

While “Grease” remained her most notable role, Newton-John continued to parlay her strong musical stage presence into a variety of other film parts. She notably starred in the Electric Light Orchestra musical “Xanadu,” which

Dame Olivia Newton-John obituary

Singer and actor with a girl-next-door reputation whose career rocketed after her starring role as Sandy in Grease

The singer and actor Olivia Newton-John, who has died aged 73 after suffering from cancer, had a ready riposte for anyone who called her “Miss Goody Two-Shoes from Australia”. Despite her Melbourne accent, she had been born in the UK, in Cambridge, and therefore – as she informed a US television audience in 1980 – she was technically “Miss Goody Two-Shoes from England”. Either way, the quip was not far off the truth. Through a career that included 100m album sales and a starring role in Grease (1978), one of the most successful musicals in film history, she was the entertainer least likely to court controversy. Though she had passionate views on the environment and cancer research, she rarely expressed strong opinions on other subjects or engaged with negative criticism.

During the early 1970s in particular, she

Fitting I Am Groot Into The MCU Put The Series Under A Major Constraint

When you have a connected film/TV universe that has been around since 2008, finding room to tell smaller stories set in between big events becomes an interesting challenge. That was definitely true of the upcoming series of Disney+ shorts, "I Am Groot," which takes place when everyone's favorite sentient tree was still a little twig.

If you recall, the adult Groot sacrificed himself to save his friends at the end of "Guardians of the Galaxy." A sort of new/reincarnated Groot was grown in a pot, which you probably know because if you're like me, your home contains at least one Baby Groot...

Brad Pitt Keeps a ‘Sh*t List’ of Actors He Won’t Work with, Says Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Don’t get on Brad Pitt’s bad side.

The Oscar winner apparently keeps a “shit list” of actors he won’t work with, according to “Bullet Train” co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

“He is in a new chapter of his life, I think,” Taylor-Johnson explained of Pitt during the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland (via Variety).

While Pitt is a “humble and gracious human being,” Taylor-Johnson added that the actor expects the same from co-stars in return. “He just wants to bring light and joy into the world and be around people who are there to have a good time,” the “Kraven the Hunter” lead said. “You work with many actors and after a while you start making notes: ‘I am definitely not working with this person ever again.’ Brad has this list too: the ‘good’ list and the ‘shit’ list.”

The star-studded, cameo-filled “Bullet Train,” directed by Pitt’s former stunt double David Leitch,

Jack Nicholson's Comedic Turn Was A Very Conscious Career Decision

Jack Nicholson made a career out of portraying larger-than-life, wild-eyed characters, the kind that would birth endless reaction gifs across the internet decades after he played them. Far from a stranger to comedy, some of Nicholson's better-remembered turns are of the darkly-comical variety, like his dual roles in "Mars Attacks!" Even Nicholson's legendary performance in "The Shining" is nearly equal parts terrifying and bleakly funny, thanks to him improvising one-liners in the middle of an axe-swinging rampage.

Nicholson worked almost exclusively on comedies over the last 10 years leading up to his retirement from acting in 2013, although that wasn't his plan starting out. Rather, the...

Spock's Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Romance Is A Nerve-Wracking Prospect For Ethan Peck

Now that we're able to look back at the first season of "Strange New Worlds" as a whole and with the benefit of hindsight, it feels like even more of a miracle that the overwhelmingly well-received series ended up as entertaining and well-crafted as it was. Perfectly toeing the line between ongoing character arcs and largely standalone, episodic episodes, the creators and writing team confidently established this show as quite possibly the best inaugural season of any "Star Trek" property in its over five decades of existence -- no small feat, to say the least.

Of the many standout highlights who helped...

Darren Star Doesn't See Uncoupled As A Story 'About Gay Characters'

The state of LGBTQ+ representation in media is a bit strange. Sure, there are more movies and television shows with LGBTQ+ characters than ever before, but the complexity of these characters is debatable depending on who you ask. Despite some outliers, LGBTQ+ characters being promoted strictly based on their sexuality and not on other aspects of their personality is a phenomenon that hasn't quite ended amidst the ongoing push for media inclusion.

This is something that Darren Star, whose newest show "Uncoupled" premiered on Netflix this past July, wants to change. The creator and executive producer of the Neil Patrick Harris vehicle, who...
