John Travolta, Edgar Wright, and More Remember Olivia Newton-John: ‘You Made Our Lives So Much Better’

When Olivia Newton-John died on Monday at the age of 73, the entertainment world lost an icon. The multi-talented British-Australian performer first rose to prominence as a pop star in the 1970s with the hit albums “If You Love Me, Let Me Know” and “Have You Never Been Mellow,” but movie lovers will always remember her as Sandy Olsson. Her starring role in “Grease” resulted in many of the most iconic musical numbers in film history, from “Summer Nights” to “You’re the One That I Want.” Newton-John’s musical pedigree and chemistry with Travolta went a long way toward propelling the film to success, and its soundtrack remains one of the best-selling albums in music history.

While “Grease” remained her most notable role, Newton-John continued to parlay her strong musical stage presence into a variety of other film parts. She notably starred in the Electric Light Orchestra musical “Xanadu,” which

Fitting I Am Groot Into The MCU Put The Series Under A Major Constraint

When you have a connected film/TV universe that has been around since 2008, finding room to tell smaller stories set in between big events becomes an interesting challenge. That was definitely true of the upcoming series of Disney+ shorts, "I Am Groot," which takes place when everyone's favorite sentient tree was still a little twig.

If you recall, the adult Groot sacrificed himself to save his friends at the end of "Guardians of the Galaxy." A sort of new/reincarnated Groot was grown in a pot, which you probably know because if you're like me, your home contains at least one Baby Groot...

Brad Pitt Keeps a ‘Sh*t List’ of Actors He Won’t Work with, Says Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Don’t get on Brad Pitt’s bad side.

The Oscar winner apparently keeps a “shit list” of actors he won’t work with, according to “Bullet Train” co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

“He is in a new chapter of his life, I think,” Taylor-Johnson explained of Pitt during the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland (via Variety).

While Pitt is a “humble and gracious human being,” Taylor-Johnson added that the actor expects the same from co-stars in return. “He just wants to bring light and joy into the world and be around people who are there to have a good time,” the “Kraven the Hunter” lead said. “You work with many actors and after a while you start making notes: ‘I am definitely not working with this person ever again.’ Brad has this list too: the ‘good’ list and the ‘shit’ list.”

The star-studded, cameo-filled “Bullet Train,” directed by Pitt’s former stunt double David Leitch,

Jack Nicholson's Comedic Turn Was A Very Conscious Career Decision

Jack Nicholson made a career out of portraying larger-than-life, wild-eyed characters, the kind that would birth endless reaction gifs across the internet decades after he played them. Far from a stranger to comedy, some of Nicholson's better-remembered turns are of the darkly-comical variety, like his dual roles in "Mars Attacks!" Even Nicholson's legendary performance in "The Shining" is nearly equal parts terrifying and bleakly funny, thanks to him improvising one-liners in the middle of an axe-swinging rampage.

Nicholson worked almost exclusively on comedies over the last 10 years leading up to his retirement from acting in 2013, although that wasn't his plan starting out. Rather, the...

Spock's Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Romance Is A Nerve-Wracking Prospect For Ethan Peck

Now that we're able to look back at the first season of "Strange New Worlds" as a whole and with the benefit of hindsight, it feels like even more of a miracle that the overwhelmingly well-received series ended up as entertaining and well-crafted as it was. Perfectly toeing the line between ongoing character arcs and largely standalone, episodic episodes, the creators and writing team confidently established this show as quite possibly the best inaugural season of any "Star Trek" property in its over five decades of existence -- no small feat, to say the least.

Of the many standout highlights who helped...

Darren Star Doesn't See Uncoupled As A Story 'About Gay Characters'

The state of LGBTQ+ representation in media is a bit strange. Sure, there are more movies and television shows with LGBTQ+ characters than ever before, but the complexity of these characters is debatable depending on who you ask. Despite some outliers, LGBTQ+ characters being promoted strictly based on their sexuality and not on other aspects of their personality is a phenomenon that hasn't quite ended amidst the ongoing push for media inclusion.

This is something that Darren Star, whose newest show "Uncoupled" premiered on Netflix this past July, wants to change. The creator and executive producer of the Neil Patrick Harris vehicle, who...

Olivia Newton-John was that rare thing: a wonderfully unselfconscious star

After soaring to fame in Grease, Newton-John – who has died aged 73 – became the queen of the movie soundtrack album, and her roles in oddball hits Xanadu and A Mom for Christmas meant audiences never stopped loving her

Olivia Newton-John was an Australian recording star who achieved serious Hollywood fame with her starring role in the 1978 musical Grease, playing opposite the white-hot leading man of the moment, John Travolta. Just a few years earlier, she had come an ignominious fourth representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest (she was born in England), losing out to Abba’s Waterloo. But Grease made her a serious A-lister.

At the ages of 29 and 24, Newton-John and Travolta were playing high-school students Sandy and Danny in a fondly imagined 1950s – but no one questioned the age disparity at the time, and Newton-John was probably Hollywood’s last example of a mature juvenile lead. In Grease she is the sweet,
